Health Sciences North’s North Eastern Ontario Health Centre for Kids (NEO Kids) has become a lot smarter thanks to the support of The Keg Steakhouse + Bar.
The Keg Steakhouse + Bar gave back to the community when they underwent renovations, donating all of the décor to Health Sciences North Foundation for an online auction and donating proceeds from their grand reopening cocktail party to support NEO Kids. The two fundraising initiatives saw $14,000 raised to purchase two Smart Infusion Pumps and IV Poles for the new Infusion Clinic at NEO Kids.
“We were excited to support NEO Kids and we are extremely pleased with the amount of funds that were raised,” says Evelyn Hoffman, General Manager of The Keg Steakhouse + Bar Sudbury. “We want to thank everyone who contributed to the success of this initiative through our online auction and cocktail party. We look forward to participating in events like this in the near future.”
The Smart Infusion Pumps allow medication, fluids and nutrients to be infused into the child in precisely controlled rates. These pumps ultimately reduce medication errors and increase patient safety.
"Thank you to the staff and management at The Keg for its support of NEO Kids, which provides specialized health care to children from across the north. Their support will help us enhance that care, and we're amazed at the support we're getting in the community for NEO Kids" says Dr. Sean Murray, a pediatrician and Medical Director of HSN’s Family and Child Program, which includes NEO Kids.
“Health Sciences North Foundation was honoured to work with the team from The Keg Steakhouse + Bar during their renovations and grand reopening,” says Mary Lou Hussak, Executive Director of Health Sciences North Foundation. “The results of both the campaign to support NEO Kids and the renovations to The Keg are amazing.”
