During the week of September 11-17, Health Sciences North Foundation partnered with Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign to raise funds to support quality health care in northeastern Ontario. By selling one delicious cookie at a time, $26,524 was raised for Health Sciences North Foundation’s priority needs. Sudbury ranked #1 in Canada for Smile Cookie sales on a per capita basis.
“Our HSN Foundation certainly knows how to get behind a charitable event! Their marketing skills, coupled with their piping skills helped to make the Smile Cookie campaign a smashing success at our Health Sciences North Tim Hortons locations and ranked us as #1 in Smile Cookie sales in Canada for a non-traditional location,” said Stewart Brown, Retail Food Services Director, Health Sciences North. “Our staff had a blast working side by side and we could not have reached the level of success we achieved without them!”
Health Sciences North Foundation also offered Smile-A-Gram service again this year as part of the campaign, hand delivering packages of Smile Cookies to staff, volunteers and patients throughout the hospital. 150 Smile-A-Grams were delivered as part of the initiative.
“Health Sciences North Foundation was blown away by the success of this campaign! We are honored to be a recipient charity for the Smile Cookie Campaign and we look forward to continuing to our relationship with Tim Hortons,” said Mary Lou Hussak, President and CEO, Health Sciences North Foundation. “Thank you to everyone who purchased a smile cookie or a Smile-A-Gram! Because of the success of the campaign, we are able to further support the priority needs of Health Sciences North.”
