Health Sciences North’s (HSN) Learners Centre is one step closer to realization thanks to a $500,000 donation from Vince and Karen Pollesel from Crosstown Chevrolet.
"Karen and I are pleased to support Health Sciences North's Leaners Centre with a donation of $500,000,” said Vince Pollesel, President, Crosstown Chevrolet.” Our family has been personally touched by the amazing staff and care provided at HSN and this is our way of saying thank you to those who provide vital services to so many in our community."
“Our partnership with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine has been instrumental in the recruitment of high quality providers in all disciplines,” said Dr Chris Bourdon, Vice President, Medical and Academic Affairs, HSN. “The Learners Center allows us to provide an environment to enhance the learning on our site. It will provide additional areas for learners to meet, discuss and simulate difficult patient situations and enhance their learning.”
“Health Sciences North Foundation would like to thank Vince and Karen Pollesel for their generous support of HSN’s Learners Centre,” said Mary Lou Hussak, President and CEO, HSN Foundation. “Because of their support, HSN is providing tomorrow’s health care professionals with exceptional educational opportunities in a hands-on environment.”
The Learners Centre is a thriving teaching facility where learners engage with tools, high fidelity mannequins and state-of-the-art technology in order to practice scenarios that train both medical staff and students for real life medical situations.
