Health Sciences North Foundation receives $20,000 donation from McDougall Energy and Imperial in support of NEO Kids!

Health Sciences North Foundation has received a generous donation of $20,000 from McDougall Energy and Imperial (formerly Imperial Oil). As part of the Esso Community Investment Program McDougall Energy has designated these funds to support of the North Eastern Ontario Health Centre for Kids (NEO Kids) at Health Sciences North (HSN)!

“On behalf of our Sudbury team, extended families and our partner Imperial, we are pleased to support children’s health care excellence in the North Eastern Ontario through our support of NEO Kids”, says Darren McDougall, President of McDougall Energy Inc.

“Imperial and McDougall Energy have a long and proud history, and we are pleased to support NEO Kids through the Esso Community Program,” says Martin Illes. Senior Accounts Executive, Fuels Marketing - Wholesale & Specialties, Imperial Oil.  “I’m looking forward to participating in a tour of Neo Kids in order to better understand how our giving helps the children, youth and their families with expert health care in the Sudbury region”.

The Esso Community Program was created to support initiatives that have a positive impact on the community, as well as reinforce the commitment of Esso-branded retailers and associates to the communities where their customers live.

“On behalf of the Health Sciences North Foundation’s Board of Directors and staff, I would like to thank McDougall Energy and Imperial. Your generosity will go a long way in children’s health care in our community,” says Mary Lou Hussak Executive Director, Health Sciences North Foundation.

“I want to thank McDougall Energy and Imperial for this generous donation.  This contribution is a true investment in the health of children of our community and  will go a long way to help provide the care they need as close to home as possible, ” said Dr. Sean Murray, Chief of Pediatrics and Medical Director for the Family and Child Program at Health Sciences North.  “It is because of partners like McDougall Energy and Imperial that NEO Kids will become a reality.”

HSN has established NEO Kids to lead the way in excellence in pediatric health care for northeastern Ontario children and youth.  The centre will allow children, youth and their families to seek and receive expert health care in a space of their own, close to home.

HSN is in the initial planning stages for a new facility to accommodate all pediatric service that will allow us to consolidate and expand all outpatient services for children under one roof, including referrals, clinics, imaging, diagnostics, pharmacy, mental health and more.

NEO Kids will be equipped with the most current and innovative equipment and will enable medical teams from all pediatric related disciplines to work more collaboratively. Pediatric clinics and services will flourish in our own back yard.
