Thanks to a $250,000 from TD Bank Group, Health Sciences North’s (HSN) Learners Centre is one step closer to realization today.
“TD continues to be a dedicated partner of Health Sciences North Foundation and this donation furthers their commitment to health care in our community,” said Mary Lou Hussak, President and CEO, HSN Foundation. “HSN Foundation would like to thank TD for their generous support of the Learners Centre. Because of their continued support, HSN is providing tomorrow’s health care professionals with exceptional educational opportunities in a hands-on environment.
“Our partnership with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine has been instrumental in the recruitment of high quality providers in all disciplines,” said Dr Chris Bourdon, Vice President, Medical and Academic Affairs, HSN. “The Learners Center allows us to provide an environment to enhance the learning on our site. It will provide additional areas for learners to meet, discuss and simulate difficult patient situations and enhance their learning.”
The Learners Centre is a thriving teaching facility where learners engage with tools, high fidelity mannequins and state-of-the-art technology in order to practice scenarios that train both medical staff and students for real life medical situations.
